Hi, my name is Amira!

I am beyond excited to share my journey with you.

I grew up in Queens, but I now reside on Long Island, and I have four siblings. Growing up I struggled with dealing with my mental illness, and quickly found myself spiraling. My therapists had always tried to show me different coping mechanisms, but none of them worked for me. That was until I found baking! Every since I was a little girl I loved to cook and bake! I would spend hours in the kitchen and my mother was really supportive, and even registered me for baking classes!

I remember how worried I was to tell both my parents about my career choice.

While they supported it as a hobby, they weren’t sure about baking as a career for me. I spent countless hours practicing, and once I started to get really good, my parents agreed to let me go to The Culinary Institute of America! It was a long journey, full of blood, sweat and tears. I almost thought I wouldn’t make it, but I had made a promise to my step-dad that I was gonna graduate, and I did. Due to his passing, he wasn’t able to attend, but I know his light was shining down on me.

Now that my college years are over, I run my own business called SweetLife Bakery, while still exploring, and enjoying life! No matter where it may take me, my exploring days will never end! I hope your buckled up and ready for the ride….. it’s gonna be a good one!
